Hailing from Blackpool on the NW coast of England, Sterickoy Is trying to forge a new sound that blends the familiar sounds of metal and rock with more experiental and electronic elements combined to create an original sound. Influenced by groove and Stoner metal such as Clutch, Orange Goblin, Pantera, together with more classical tastes such as Black Sabbath and rainbow along with thrash bands akin to Megadeth, Metallica and Trivium mixed in for good measure. Also heavenly influenced by Japanese Rock/metal bands, AA=, SIM, Crossfaith, Man with a mission, Sterickoy Is trying to create a new sound that Rock and Metal fans of all ages can enjoy.
Having played bass and lead vocals for many years in Rock and Metal bands including "Devil 2 Pay" and "Blackshift" and gigging across the country for 15 years Rick stepped away from the scene for a couple of years in 2015 however the creative juices never stopped flowing! Needing an outlet and wanting to try something a little different Sterickoy was born.
In 2001 Sterickoy picked up the bass guitar and began jamming with 3 friends. This was the start of Sterickoy's entry into the music scene, going on to form the prodomantly thrash metal band Devil 2 Pay. As Devil 2 Pay's bassist and lead vocalist Sterickoy gigged far and wide across england between 2002 and 2013. The highlghts being the Suport for The choir boys, Girlschool and Ten as well as performing at venues such as the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool.
During his time with Devil 2 Pay Sterickoy played bass on Gary Hughes's 'Veritas' album which had a physical relase across Europe and Asia.
Following the conclusion of Devil 2 Pay Sterickoy joined the Experimental Progressive metal band Blackshift where he was the lead vocalist and Primary lyricist. Blackshift only performed live for 2 years and following a break from music around 2015 Sterickoy dusted down his old Zoom all in one mixer recorder and began writing music trying to hone an original yet familiar sound.
